This investment will fund outright property acquisitions and accelerate Leequify's mission to turn land and real estate into accessible liquidity for Nigerian owners.
Lagos, Nigeria. In a market where land and property represent some of the most valuable assets a family or individual can hold, one problem has persisted for generations: that value is locked away. Selling a house or a plot of land in Nigeria can take months, sometimes years. Buyers fall through. Paperwork drags. Owners are left holding wealth they cannot use, precisely when they need it most, whether to fund an emergency, seize an opportunity, or simply move on with life.
Pordware is backing Leequify with a $5 million investment to change that story.
Why this matters
Nigeria's real estate market is now valued at roughly $2.6 trillion, making it Africa's largest property market and one of its fastest-growing, with the sector projected to keep expanding by close to 7% a year through the rest of the decade. That scale is the problem and the opportunity in one. Land ownership across Nigeria is widespread, but the infrastructure to convert that ownership into usable capital has never caught up. Leequify was built to close that gap.
This investment marks one of Pordware's most significant bets yet in the property and liquidity space, and it reflects a belief we return to often: the biggest problems in African markets are usually structural, not technological. The tools to move faster already exist. What has been missing is capital willing to sit behind the promise and make it real.
How Leequify works
The model is built around one core promise: liquidity, without the wait and without the uncertainty that typically comes with selling land or property in Nigeria.
Owners who want to sell outright can bring their property to Leequify, where a dedicated team manages verification, legal title checks, and due diligence to confirm the property is clean and dispute free. Once verification is complete, owners are paid within 7 working days, a timeline almost unheard of in traditional property sales.
For owners who would rather hold onto their property but still need access to cash, Leequify offers a second path: soft loans issued against the property as collateral, allowing them to unlock value without giving up ownership.
Both paths are built around the same idea. Property should not be a barrier to liquidity. It should be a bridge to it.
Capital behind the promise
What sets Leequify apart from many players in Nigeria's informal property market is that its promises are backed by real capital, not a network of hopeful buyers. The $5 million from Pordware will primarily fund outright acquisitions, giving Leequify the balance sheet to buy land and property directly from owners rather than depending solely on brokered introductions.
This shifts the model from a broker sitting between buyer and seller, to a capitalized buyer that can move with speed and certainty. In a market where trust has historically been in short supply, that distinction matters.
"Property in Nigeria holds enormous value, but for most owners, that value has always been locked away behind slow processes, unreliable buyers, and paperwork that can take months to untangle," said Rex Connor, Venture Partner at Pordware, who helped facilitate the investment and has worked closely with the Leequify team to prepare the company for this next stage of growth. "Leequify was built to solve that problem directly. This investment gives them the capital to move faster, verify with confidence, and give people real, immediate access to the value they already own. We are not just backing an idea. We are backing a team that understands this problem from the ground up, and a model built to earn trust in a market where trust is everything."
The Leequify team echoed that sense of purpose.
"For too long, owning land or property in Nigeria has meant sitting on value you cannot use," said a member of the Leequify founding team. "We started Leequify because we believe that should not be the case. This investment from Pordware does not just give us capital. It gives us the ability to show up for people at the exact moment they need liquidity most, with speed, with verification, and without the runaround that has defined this industry for too long."
What comes next
With the investment in place, Leequify plans to scale its verification infrastructure, grow its legal and inspection teams, and deepen its buyer network to support faster turnaround on outright sales. The company is currently live in Nigeria, with an eye toward expanding its model into other African markets where the same liquidity gap exists.
For Pordware, this is part of a broader thesis we've built the firm around: patient, hands-on capital paired with the right operating teams, especially in markets where the biggest barriers are not a lack of ambition, but a lack of infrastructure.
Leequify's message to the market is simple and direct. Your land is not just property. It is liquidity, waiting to be unlocked.
